Kobudo, the art of self defense using farming and fishing tools originated in Okinawa islands from the indigenous peoples whom defended themselves from seafaring attackers.

Literally translated, the old art of war, was developed using mostly non lethal disarming techniques against sword or spear.

There are many tools that may have been used in the 15th to 16th century, and through traditional teaching we recognize 8 of these weapons/tools today.

Iaido is the art of drawing and cutting with the Katana.

Iaido, literally translated as the way of the blade, is a famous Japanese art that skillfully wields the Katana.

Traditional Kata, or forms, are practiced to hone user skill and keep alive the ancient art form that no longer needs use in times of peace.
